Young European Art Award "Parks of Art" November - December 2004 1. Object The culture councillorship of the Municipalities of Besenello, Calliano and Volano (TN) Italy, in collaboration with the cultural association Numero Civico of Rovereto announces the 2004 edition of the price contest for young european art "Parks of Art", in order to promote the european artistic search, looking for the most interesting experiences. The Topic of the competition is: a work for the expositive way "Parks of Art". The artists, selected according to the following dispositions, have to propose an original work without limitations of material and technique for "Parks of Art" located in Besenello, Calliano and Volano considering either the mission of "Sentiero dell'Arte", an historical path under restoration that will connect the three communities that promote the competition, and the environment where the work will be placed. 2. Conditions of participation The competition is open to all the artists who have been resident in one of the European Community Countries for at least six months, or who have been resident or domiciled in one of the European Community Countries in the past. 3. Conditions of exclusion The contest is not open to the following: - the active members of the selection Jury; - the members of the organising secretariat, their husbands and wives and their relatives up to and including the second degree; - the employees and collaborators of the members of the Jury and of the promoting body; - those who have partecipated in drafting the notice of the competition and the enclosed documents; - those who have subordinated employment relations with Public Administration, Bodies or Institutions unless they have specific permission. 4. Awards Comprehensive Award of 30.000,00 Euro. 5. Phases and calendar The competition is articulated in three phases. In the firs phase the curricula and the documentation of the competitors will be gathered and valuated in order to select the finalists. It's important to get some information about the last five years of the artists' activity production. In the second phase the competitors will be contacted in order to know which work or project will be chosen for "Parks of Art". In the third phase the selected works will be acquired. Selection Jury All the material received will be judged by a Jury, made up of five members including the competition artistic directors Francesca Cristellotti and Stefano Giovanazzi. The Jury reserves the right to visit the atelier of the artists. 8. Required Documentation The following material must be included with the entry form, properly completed and signed, to be received by november 30, 2004: -signed entry form; -copy of identity card; -italian or english description of the work/project not longer than four pages (A4 sized pages); - signed curriculum, with eventual bibliography. It's important to underline the activity of the last five years which shows the presence of the artist and his works at least in one man show or collective exhibition. The curriculum must contain: date of birth, address, telephone number, e-mail address; -no more than 20 slides and/or 20 plastic-coated photos, specifying the author, the title, the date and the technique and/or a video VHS or DVD always with explanation; -catalogues, depliant and documents refering to past exhibitions; The documents will not be given back but will be recorded in the archives ACD of the association "Numero Civico" of Rovereto. 9. Evaluation of the competitor For the evaluation of the competitor the jury will consider the most original ideas, the artistic qualites referring to the present and past production. All the competitors will be informed by e-mail or phone of the result. 10. Time and place where handing in the acquired works The selected works and project have to be handed in by the 30 December 2004 to cultural Association Numero Civico, via Vittorio Veneto 5, 38068 Rovereto TN Italia. 11. Procedure to get the award The award will be given after getting regular invoice or receipt for fiscal purposes. It includes transportation charges. 12. When and why projects and works cannot be accepted A project or a work cannot be accepted for the following reasons: - delay in delivery (it will be considered the expedition and invoice date); - impossibility to preserve the works. - no correspondence to the price or to the work indicated in the visit of the artist's atelier. If after valuating the works and the projects the Jury doesn't come to a decision, it has the faculty to propose to buy a work from an artist not registered in the tender or to award nobody. 13. Property of projects and works The works and projects collected by cultural Association "Numero Civico" will be delivered to Comune of Besenello, Calliano e Volano for "Parks of Art". 14. Copyright The winner transfers to Comune of Besenello, Calliano e Volano, the rights to publish, show to the public, reproduce the work/project and the documentation included. The rights includes the possibility to let other association publish the work/project for cultural purposes. 15. Exhibition The works will be displayed during 2005 by comune of Besenello, Calliano e Volano in the places predisposed for "Parks of Art". 16.
